Artist Interview:

What is it you like so much about playing Pearl Drums?

The best reason to play Pearl drums is that they consistantly sound good. In the studio there is no time to waste, I just want to set the drums up, tweak a bit and play. They never let me down. I started playing Pearl 32 years ago and I have come back to them, best tubs on the planet.

Which drummer/band influenced you most into playing drums?

Steve Gadd,Vinnie Colaiuta,Dave Weckl,Neal Wilkinson

Who in your mind are the drummers of tomorrow?

Check out some of my students at the ACM, James Rees for one has a monster groove and killer chops!

What do you like most about being a drummer?

Drummers are cool, we can hang and chat about anything for hours, also without a good drummer in the band, the band will not be happening.

What is the worst thing to happen to you during a show?

I havent had many mares, usual stuff people forgetting songs, parts etc nothing major. I was ill once and that wasn't pleasant on a gig..

What do you practice and for how long?

I practice for 2 hours a day, stick control and foot combinations in front of the TV

What is your best advice to a young player wanting to make it in this industry?

Networking and be ready for what you want.

If you had the chance to play drums for another artist who would it be?

Sting,James Taylor,any good singer songwriter
