Described as Supercharged intensity from Bridgend, the four-piece band are signed to Lostprophets' UK label. Originally known as Jeff Killed John, the band formed in 1999 while studying music at Bridgend College and in 2002 they released a two-track CD (You/Play With Me) through a scheme for new Welsh musicians. Jeff Killed John rethought their strategy, and changed their name to Bullet For My Valentine. Michael started playing the drums at the age of 16 and has been with the band right from the start, including playing their first London showcase in February 2004.By October 2004 the band had signed a five album deal with Sony, with a UK licensing deal with Visible Noise, home to Lostprophets. The debut Bullet For My Valentine release was their eponymous five-song mini-album, released on 15 November 2004 and they will release their debut full-length album 'The Poison' on September 26 this year. Already this year they were placed 7th in the Metal Hammer reader poll for Best British band and 2nd for the Best New band poll. They recently played the Snickers stage at the Download festival and also played the prestigious Metal Hammer awards -The Golden Gods on Monday 13th June at the Astoria, London.
